Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has had a relatively successful launch but there were reports of the game crashing on Xbox consoles and this was confirmed by Infinity Ward on Reddit.

Last night patch 1.05 was rolled out on all platforms with consoles owners having to download around 3GB of data and PC owners lumped with 7GB. The main fix in the patch was for the Dead Silence perk which did not work as intended, but they also say they have done some work to help stop crashes.
- We’ve done work on the backend to help with stability and prevent crashes across all platforms.
- Fix for a special ops achievement that was not unlocking after completing all missions.
- Third-person footsteps are now silent while the Dead Silence Field Upgrade is active.
- Hardpoint: adjustments to the hill rotations and locations on Arklov Peak, Azhir Cave, Hackney Yard, Rammaza, and St. Petrograd.
Our review of the game should be up in the next day or two, like most sites we only got the code on the day of launch.
The highly anticipated 2019 reimagining of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has romped to top the UK retail charts this past week, deposing FIFA 20 and leading a top five that featured four new entries to the charts.
That Call of Duty: Modern Warfare topped the UK charts last week is no surprise, but the year on year difference compared to last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is larger than you might expect. There’s been a 39% jump up in retail sales compared to last year, though GamesIndustry.biz report that the game narrows when factoring in digital sales. It could be that Modern Warfare’s single player campaign has drawn in a slightly different audience keen to have the possibility of reselling the game?
