EA and DICE continue to tease Battlefront II fans who are patiently awaiting the reveal of new tie in content for the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
In its latest community transmission, DICE promises that it has “big news” coming next week on Wendesday, December 4th:
Of course, this is also the month that Star Wars™ fans have been waiting for, as the Skywalker saga comes to its conclusion.
Once you’ve experienced the movie in the cinema, you’ll get to immerse yourself in it at home, as Star Wars™: The Rise of Skywalker™ content comes to Star Wars™ Battlefront II this month.
Exactly what this content will include is a mystery for now with Battlefront II developers dropping vague hints over on the official Battlefront II forums and Reddit. Without knowing exactly what happens in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, it’s hard to pinpoint what DICE could have been working on in terms of new locations, units, or heroes.
If we cast our minds back to 2017 and the cinematic release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, that could give us a rough idea of what to expect in terms of new Battlefront II content. To coincide with the film, we saw two new heroes (Finn & Captain Phasma) enter the fray with two maps and an additional Starfighter to play with.
DICE could have something similar in the works though we wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming content drop is a bit lighter. Maybe a new map and a fresh round of character cosmetics? We’ll have to wait and find out.
Meanwhile, DICE has confirmed a lineup of in game events for next month. December will play host to a number of upcoming “Holiday Quests” including several timed challenges to unlock content like emotes as well as rare Episode IV skins for both Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker.
There are also two triple experience points events in the pipeline. The first of these will run between December 5th and the 7th with the second lasting for two whole weeks, running from Christmas Eve to January 6th – plenty of time to level up your profile.
