As we see off the 2010’s and usher in the 2020’s we’re seeing almost a repeat of what happened at the beginning of the decade. At the beginning of 2010 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the number one title, seeing off Assassin’s Creed II for the top spot. Now, almost 10 years later, Call of Duty’s dominance has not subsided as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare holds the number one spot in the final chart of 2019, those this time it is by beating FIFA 20.
In fact there hasn’t been much change at all compared to the chart from last week with the top five titles remaining exactly the same. Borderlands 3 and Grand Theft Auto V have re-emerged into the top ten thanks to deals and bundles, pushing aside Pokemon Sword and Just Dance 2020. There have been some re-entries into the top 20 with WWE 2K20, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate all climbing back up.
