Netflix has released an interactive map that clears up a few things regarding The Witcher series. The show, starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, is based predominantly on the books by Andrzej Sapkowski though those who have played the games will be familiar with many of the settings and characters. However, even with that knowledge it can take a bit of time to get into The Witcher due to the amount of time jumps it has, the references to different characters, factions, nations, and the lore of the land.
Due to the utter convolution of events and the episodes not being in chronological order Netflix has released an interactive timeline that shows which order the episodes run in timeline wise, as well as showing events that have happened prior and in tandem to the timeline of the show. There is a lot of lore to digest but the timeline gives a really good background to everything.

The show itself has been very successful and that success led to The Witcher games seeing a surge in popularity. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt saw a huge surge that reached heights not seen since the game’s launch almost five years ago. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt may be considered one of the games of this generation. In my review of the original release I wrote:
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is easily one of the most engrossing games I’ve had the chance to play. The story and characters are well worth the experience alone, and the world expertly draws on the desire to explore with its massive scale. You never know what will greet you or beat you just a few seconds down the path, and that’s what is exciting about this game. There are some issues that will need to be improved. The combat is better than the Witcher 2 but isn’t quite there either, but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the first game in a while that has held my attention for so long that I don’t notice the time pass. CD Projekt Red haven’t just created a great game but a modern gaming masterpiece.
