A brand new trailer has been released for Lost Words: Beyond The Page, a game in which players venture through the pages of a young writer’s journal. The pages in the journal become the vivid landscapes of the land of Estoria in which Izzy escapes from the realities of her life. In this story she is dealing with her grandmother becoming ill, and that inspires her creative outlet shaping the events of Estoria.
The narrative of Lost Words has been writtern by Rhiannon Pratchett. The words themselves play an important part as they can be used to create ways for the main character to navigate Estoria. The game is being developed by Sketchbook Games and we interviewed founder Mark Backler about Lost Words. When asked about how he would sum up the experience in one work Mark said:
That’s a hard one! Our aim is for it to be all about the narrative and emotional journey so I think I would have to go for ‘Moving’.
