Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Two content confirmed

Infinity Ward has confirmed what players can expect to get when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Two begins tomorrow, February 11th. Leading the charge are more maps being added including the return of Rust and another map called Atlas Superstore. For Ground War the new map is called Zhokov Boneyard. While in Gunfight mode the first new map is Bazaar with more to follow. New multiplayer modes include a CDL playlist and Gunfight Tournaments. The new operator allows players to play as popular character Ghost. The new weapons are the Grau 5.56 and Striker 45. All of this content will be available across all platforms on the first day of Season Two.

That’s not all that is coming in Season Two. Further down the line the new multiplayer map Khandor Hideout, and two more operators who are Talon and Mace. There’s a handful of new modes being added to which will include Infected Ground War, NVG Reinforce, and more Gunfight variants. On top of that, there will be other modes cycled in through the season. There will also be a new weapon though Infinity Ward has not yet confirmed what that will be. Infinity Ward has stated that things may change through the season in regards to the content.

Season Two comes after a long delay. Season One was originally supposed to end a month ago to make way for this season, but it was likely that the team needed more time to finalise Season Two’s content.

In our review for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Jim wrote:

Infinity Ward was never going to recapture the magic of the original Modern Warfare, but this is still their most memorable Call of Duty game of the past decade. This is a bold new spin that’s uneven in places, but proves there is still room for innovation within that core template.
