Square Enix releases new batch of screenshots for Final Fantasy VII Remake

Square Enix has released over 20 screenshots and character renders for Final Fantasy VII Remake today. These shots show Tifa and Cloud in battle along with some of the summons including Chocobo Chick, Carbuncle, and Cactaur. Professor Hojo, Director of the Shinra Electric Power Research and Development Division, is also revealed in the screenshots and renders below.

Miguel recently got some hands-on time with Final Fantasy VII Remake, and wrote:

“It’s still hard to believe, but this game really is coming. Whether we get one disc or three, the content is bound to be worthwhile if this brief demo was any indication. The decision to shift form turn-based action to something more real time will remain contentious for devout fans, but it’s inventive and rewarding. Square observed the flaws of their action combat from Final Fantasy XV, and improved on every part of it. Having gone hands on, I now can’t wait for even more when the game launches in March 2020.”

Unfortunately, for Miguel and everyone else waiting for Final Fantasy VII Remake the game was delayed from its March release date. Instead, Square Enix decided a little more time was needed and the release date was pushed back to April 10th. This affected the PS4 exclusivity window which was originally supposed to last until March 2021, but with the delay this was also pushed back so the year exclusive period remained in place.

At the time of the delay Yoshinori Kitase wrote:

“We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.

We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.

Thank you for your patience and continued support”

However, it was recently confirmed in a new trailer that the Honey Bee Inn would make its return with Cloud’s crossdressing mission remaining intact though tweaked to meet more modern attitudes.
