Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s latest patch removes attachment glitch bug

Infinity Ward has released a small update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to address a few bugs that have been present in the game. Chief among those is the attachment glitch where players could equip certain weapon attachments without earning them in-game. That is no longer the case so if you did have an unearned attachment it is likely you will not be able to use that unless you earn them through the proper means. There have also been some changes to the backend and various exploit fixes too.

  • Fix for a bug that allowed players to use attachments not yet earned
  • Exploit fixes on various maps and modes
  • Fixed a bug that leave a players CDL filter active after they’ve joined a party without CDL filters
  • Backend fixes

Earlier this week, Infinity Ward confirmed all the content for Modern Warfare season two. That content included adding Ghost as an operator, as well as the weapons Grau 5.56 and Striker 45. New maps added so far include the return of Rust and another map called Atlas Superstore, while for Ground War the new map is called Zhokov Boneyard.

Further down the line the new multiplayer map Khandor Hideout, and two more operators who are Talon and Mace. There’s a handful of new modes being added to which will include Infected Ground War, NVG Reinforce, and more Gunfight variants. On top of that, there will be other modes cycled in through the season.

Infinity Ward was never going to recapture the magic of the original Modern Warfare, but this is still their most memorable Call of Duty game of the past decade. This is a bold new spin that’s uneven in places, but proves there is still room for innovation within that core template.
