Hideo Kojima shows off Death Stranding Photo Mode, coming to PC and maybe to PS4

With the PC version of Death Stranding locked in for a June 2nd release, Hideo Kojima has taken to teasing a photo mode for the game on Twitter. It seems that the mode will be in the PC version of the game from the off, but he also seems to suggest that it could be coming to PlayStation 4 via an update.

Everyone loves a good photo mode, and it seems that Death Stranding’s will largely match the feature set found in dozens of other games out there. The video he shared showed off the ability to move the camera around, exclude Sam from the diorama or change his and BB’s poses and expressions, fiddle with the aperture, exposure, focus, depth of field, contrast, and slap some filters on the image. Oh, and you can obviously give it a Death Stranding watermark.

Here’s some example shots made by his team:

And he also demonstrated what the game will look like on an Ultrawide PC monitor.

The PC version of Death Stranding is coming to Steam and Epic Games Store on 2nd June, with a bunch of pre-order bonuses if you throw your money at them early. You’ll receive HD wallpapers, The Art of Death Stranding digital artbook, the expanded edition of the soundtrack which will have formerly unreleased tracks on it, Chiral Gold and Omnireflector coloured Bridges Cap and Ludens Mask sunglasses, a Gold and Silver Armour Plate and Gold and Silver Power, Speed and All-Terrain Skeletons.

Death Stranding is available to pre-order for £54.99 off of those digital retailers, but there is also a physical release that comes with all of the above plus a steelbook case and that version is priced at £64.99.

Death Stranding is like nothing I have ever played; beautiful, heart racing, heart breaking, frustrating, epic, stunning, and utterly nuts. I laughed, I cried, I cursed, and I went to the toilet an awful lot. Death Stranding isn’t just my Game of the Year, it’s a contender for Game of the Generation too.
