Auroch Digital revealed Mars Horizon almost two years ago and there was an expectation it would have released by now, but there have development delays. However, the game is still very much in active development and soon players will be able to try it out as a beta has been announced. It is around a month away but the Mars Horizon beta will take place on April 27th.
In Mars Horizon the aim is to get people from Earth to Mars using all sorts of technology. It is a simulation title which has been advised upon by the European Space Agency so don’t expect the wackiness of Kerbal Space Program. Now the beta itself will be quite meaty in that it will have eight hours of content and feature quite a lot of the Mars Horizon milestone missions. The full list of features is below.
- Undertake 14 milestone missions (out of 36 in the full game)
- Choose to take on approximately 30 optional request missions
- 3 playable space agencies: ESA, NASA and Russia (5 in the full game)
- Approximately 8 hours gameplay
- Dozens of rocket parts, upgrades and payloads to research
- Multiple buildings to unlock and construct
- Hire, fire and even rename astronauts
- Exciting narrative twists which can aid or hinder your goals
To have chance of taking part in the Mars Horizon beta players can head over to the official site and express their interest. Here is a handy link. The beta is PC only. Mars Horizon is set for launch this year and it will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
