From Friday 1st May, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will have another clutch of free games to collect, as Microsoft have revealed the upcoming Games with Gold selection.
As always, there’s two Xbox One games and two backward compatible Xbox 360 games, with V-Rally 4 and Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor – Martyr the headline acts. But maybe you’re an old soul who’d rather play Sensible World of Soccer and Overlord II?
Those games are available in a staggered fashion through the month as follows:
- V-Rally 4 – 1st to 31st May
- Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr – 16th May to 15th June
- Sensible World of Soccer – 1st May to 15th May
- Overlord II – 16th May to 31st May
There’s been a lot of racing games thrown into Xbox Live’s free game selection of late, with V-Rally 4 following on from Project CARS 2 and Toybox Turbos this month. Does it hold up? Well… in our V-Rally 4 review, Tom said:
“Lacking the precision required to tantalize the more serious racing fan, but perhaps too much of a challenge for many, V-Rally 4 is packed to the brim with nice ideas and potential, but just as many annoyances. Sadly, in this competitive marketplace, it is stuck in a ditch.”
Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor – Martyr fared somewhat better in our review, with Jason writing:
“The dark aesthetic and relatively messy combat will likely turn those who aren’t fans of Warhammer 40,000 away, but if you do like the universe and have people to play with, then the procedural generation and promise of ongoing support means that this is a game you can sink plenty of time into.”
And, of course, Overlord II is a cult classic, and Sensible World of Soccer will let you relive the glory days of 90s football games. They don’t make ’em like they used to!
Since it’s still April, don’t forget there’s the following games still available to download:
- Project CARS 2 – until 30th April
- Knights of Pen and Paper Bundle – until 15th May
- Toybox Turbos – until 30th April
