Gladiator arcade game Gorn is heading to PSVR later this month

Free Lives has announced that it finally has a PSVR release date for its arcade style gladiator title Gorn, and that date is May 19th. Gorn is described as an over the top title with its own unique style but with physics based combat. In it players are chucked into a gladiator arena and must fight off others that are coming to take them down. You can use anything in reach as a weapons including axes, arrows, swords, shields, or a claw that basically makes you Wolverine.

The gameplay does take into account weapon heft as well as various ways to fight and defend yourself. Weapons will wobble which simulates the weight so you will have to take that into account when swinging at enemies. In addition, you will be able to pick up the bodies of fallen foes and use them as shields, grab incoming swings to stop an attack, use a dismembered arm as a weapon, catch arrows in mid flight, and  tear the shield away from an opponent and hit them. There is a lot of player choice in how to fight and entertain the crowd. The action is bloody but there is a Pinata mode so enemies explore with sweets and candy instead of gore.
