Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla soundtrack composers announced, hidden blade to instakill enemies

Ubisoft has released some more details about Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and what players can expect from it. The first news is the reveal of the game’s soundtrack composers, and Ubisoft has brought on some series veterans as well as a brand new face. First there is Jesper Kyd who worked on the soundtracks for the first Assassin’s Creed title as well as the Ezio trilogy, and has since worked on Borderlands 3, State of Decay 2, and Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Also returning is Sarah Schachner who worked on the Assassin’s Creed: Origins soundtrack before moving on to compose the music for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Anthem. The third name on the list is Einar Selvik and he has some relevant experience having worked on the soundtrack for the TV show Vikings as well as playing a role in it. That is a strong trio so the music should hopefully be iconic.

Speaking of iconic the reveal trailer confirmed the return of the hidden blade as a prominent weapon, and it now appears it will be an incredibly handy one. It seems Eivor will be able to learn a move that will allow the hidden blade to instant kill enemies, and this could mean more of an emphasis on stealth. Speaking to Kotaku, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla’s creative director Ashraf Ismail said:

Eivor receives the hidden blade quite early on. We continue with the idea that Eivor is not a trained assassin. Eivor is a Viking who receives this badass weapon and has to learn very quickly. Early in the experience, Eivor will learn a technique that, with the right timing … can one-shot-kill virtually anybody.”

Yesterday, it was confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will run at least 30fps on the Xbox Series X. The game will be releasing on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia alongside Microsoft’s next gen machine.
