There is a Smurfs game on the way confirms Microids

Publishers Microids and IMPS have announced that there is a Smurfs game on the way, and it is being developed by Osome Studio. Details are a bit scant on the game except it will be an action adventure title and that it will be a brand new storyline that has not been seen before. No doubt some nefarious plot from Gargamel will play some part. It does seem like that The Smurfs game will have co-operative elements as the press release mentions players will be able to dive into the game alone or with their friends.

Elliot Grassiano, Vice-president of Microids, said:
We are delighted for concluding this new partnership with IMPS! Thanks to this trans-generational license and the talent of OSome Studio, a long time Microids partner studio which worked on several family games, we are confident in bringing together all gamers in the wonderful world of the Smurfs. The worldwide success met by the Smurfs will also allow us to increase our brand awareness overseas and position Microids as a major player internationally.
Véronique Culliford, president and founder of IMPS said:
“I am very happy about this beautiful partnership, video games have always been my passion because they combine playfulness and often learning.”
Platforms and release dates for The Smurfs new game are yet to be confirmed by either the publishers or the developers. Osome Studio has recently developed White Night, Asterix & Obelix XXL2, and Asterix & Obelix XXL3.
