What We Played – Modern Warfare 4, GTA 5 & Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy

Your doorbells can rest easy tonight, knowing that they won’t be tormented by small humans demanding sugar-laden treats, and that also means you won’t be bouncing up and down from the sofa every few minutes and can sink into some gaming.

But what about the week that was? I’ve most been jumping into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s multiplayer, while Miguel puts more focus on the single player, and we team up for forays into the extraction shooter DMZ mode. You know what? It’s a pretty good one this time round!

Aran’s played some more Cult of the Lamb this week, but he’s also downloaded Football Manager 27 and has plans for a fresh managerial challenge. Still, it does mean that his update this week is “less what I’ve played and more what I’ve downloaded.”

Surprising himself a little, Jim has ended up replaying GTA5 ahead of the GTA6 launch. “It’s amazing just how many little details and gameplay quirks Rockstar cram in – it’s much more layered than I remember and, naturally, the writing hits harder with maturity. As with Red Dead Redemption, I found that using free aim instead of lock-on made the gameplay more interesting, even if it ends up feeling a little clunky.”

GTA5 Next-Gen PS5 Review Night Time

No surprises that Steve has played a horror game at this time of year, wrapping up the trilogy with his review of Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy. He then got hooked by the ADHD simulator Neurons Activated and blitzed through all the achievements, and followed that withe narrative card-based game Dreadline Express and some other indie horror demos.

But that’s not all. “Somehow alongside that I’ve continued to put some bedtime hours into Songs of Glimmerwick – a lovely magic university cozy game but one that confirms my issues with trying to review that genre when they’re intended to be played over a long period of time. This weekend I’ve got Terrible Lizards lined up and am hoping to start Valor Mortis as well as write up reviews. I might even try sleeping.”

The other game juggler in the group, Gamoc, wrapped up a review of Curse of Resthaven and still has Way of the Hunter 2, and Queens Domain on the go. He also returned to Crimson Desert for the upcoming DLC, and somehow still has four chapters left despite having played it for over 110 hours!

And we’ll round things out with Dom who’s been gaming during the downtime while on holiday. “I’ve spent time returning to Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War, banged my head against the insanely puzzling Order of the Sinking Star and played some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on Switch 2, which is both impressive and mildly disappointing, in equal measure.”

Now then, what have you been playing this week?
