Another week is in the bag, and yet more games have cascaded through the door of TSA, as every publisher and developer attempts to capture the hearts and minds of gamers everywhere before Christmas GTA 6. I’ve been getting into a bunch of those games, from over the hill, which is right up my… hill, through to Tiny Flock and Ratatan. I’m also in the midst of our Final Fantasy Resonance review, completing the resonant trilogy of 2026. What subtitle could it possibly be next year? I’m putting my money on Revelation.
Jason is next up this week, and he’s been playing some more Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, which is “good”. He also told me, “I’ve also discovered Savara, which is somewhere between Monster Hunter, Dark Souls, and Hades as a game. It’s incredibly good, but also quite tricky. Finally, more Overwatch, where I’ve been getting better and hating ranked.”

Jim has been playing Valor Mortis which he says is the first Soulslike he’s gelled with in a very long time. He says, “As much as I love the atmosphere of Dark Souls and Soulsborne, there are too many pain points when it comes progression and never knowing if I’m making the right choices. I’ve also returned to Ezo for Ghost of Yotei’s big expansion, Echoes of Sekigahara. While I haven’t seen too much of the new story and region, I’ve been getting stuck into the Most Wanted roguelike mode which is an excellent side attraction.”
Aran has been feeling sheepish, building his cult in Cult of the Lamb. He told me, “I’ve had a couple of dissenters but a few days in reeducation prison sorted that out. Most of the Bishops are now dead and I’m close to having everything unlocked. Once that’s all done I’ll probably get the Woolhaven DLC”
Still trying to scare herself through October, Laura has continued to play too much Silent Hill: Townfall. She says, “I know this because I was at a very quiet garden centre this morning and when I heard a funny noise, I automatically assumed it was some sort of creepy creature about to lurch round the corner and attack me… the garden centre employee that wheeled the trolley round the corner genuinely disappointed me!”
Joining in the Halloween fun, Steve has enjoyed the excellent Tenebris Somnium and Dreadline Express. He says, “I also picked up the new Castlevania which will go on my ludicrous backlog for a while – especially as there are apparently some issues on Steam Deck which is my intended format for it.”
Gareth has been playing Enshrouded, Infection Free Zone, Way of the Hunter 2, and possibly another thing that’s slipped his mind for review. Also Tales of Maj’Eyal.
Miguel is back from his jaunt to Japan, and has been playing Stupid Never Dies, One Piece: Grand Gourmet, and plugging along with his first ever playthrough of Castlevania Symphony of the Night!
And finally, Tef has played a bit of Stranger Than Heaven, which he’s going to tell us all about rather soon, but for now, is forced to hold his peace.
How about you? Are you also on the Castlevania train? Or has something else caught your eye?
