The first gameplay for Second Extinction has been revealed during IGN’s Summer of Gaming event, and as you may expect it is full of action where players face off against some dangerous dinosaurs. It is a three player co-op shooter after all.
The gameplay came alongside an interview with Brynley Gibson of studio Systemic Reaction, in a lengthy 11 minute look at the game.
There is going to be a beta on PC for Second Extinction but the sign up process is different from other games. When players sign up they sign up to the War Support which means when you join you need to get someone else to join to get access. If you manage to recruit three players an in-game nameplate will be unlocked, while five recruits will unlock a unique weapon skin, and seven recruits will unlock an emote. All of the Second Extinction game rewards will be for the PC version of the game.
After Systemic Reaction announced Second Extinction during Microsoft’s Xbox Series X game showcase last month the team released a statement:
It’s with great excitement, pride, and joy that we get to share the first title made by our small team in Malmö – Second Extinction.
We’re a tightly-knitted bunch of 35 developers that are working hard (currently from home, but under normal circumstances accompanied by a pack of adorable dogs at the office) on making this game as intense and exciting as it can be. Today is a joyous moment as we get to share what we’ve been working on with all of you. This time is made even more special as it marks the beginning of you joining us on this journey. Your feedback, thoughts, and wishes will help shape what the future of our game will hold.
Second Extinction will be released for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
