CastleStorm II will be released in July for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch

It was almost exactly a year ago when Zen Studios announced CastleStorm II, and at the time had stated it expected the game to release in 2019. Well, that year has passed and still no CastleStorm II but now Zen Studios is back, and it has an actual release date for the game. That date is July 31st and CastleStorm II will be available on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. To mark the new a brand new trailer has been released, and you can watch that below.

CastleStorm II will be bigger than its predecessor with a new Undead class that features including zombies and headless horsemen who want their own slice of the world. There is also a 4x style randomly generated map where players will build their castles, expand territory, and look to crush the enemies that get in the way. You will be able to fire ballistae at enemy fortifications and at the enemies themselves as they charge towards your gates. CastleStorm II will also have six campaign modes to work through with different characters each having their own tale to tell. Multiplayer is also part of the package with both co-op and head to head modes available.

Way back in 2014 Dom reviewed Castlestorm: Definitive Edition. In that review he wrote:

Castlestorm: Definitive Edition is exactly that – a remastered edition of an enjoyable game. Bar some issues with the controls the game offers an enjoyable mix of tower defense, RTS and action all wrapped up in a fun exterior. There’s probably little here to convince owners of the original game to double-dip, but for newcomers there’s a huge amount of content which should keep you coming back for some time.
