Proletariat Inc. has announced that it will be launching its magical battle royale Spellbreak as a free to play title when the full release happens. The game has cost players to access the early access with the options being Mage Pack costing $49.99 – this includes access to the game’s test phases, exclusive in-game avatar and badge, and $35 worth of in-game currency. Then there’s the $79.99 Battlemage Pack and $119.99 Master Pack, with $60 and $150 of in-game currency respectively and their own cosmetics.
Speaking of the move to a free to play model Seth Sivak, CEO of Proletariat, Inc, said:
“From the start, we wanted to make sure that it would be as easy as possible for Spellbreak players to play with their friends, and making the game free-to-play helps us reach that goal. Going free-to-play and ensuring the game will be cross-play on day one reinforces our goal of making sure Spellbreak will be accessible to as many people as possible.”
Jim played some Spellbreak, and he said:
“From what we’ve played of Spellbreak so far, it’s a fun and frenetic multiplayer romp with plenty of room to grow. The battle royale genre may have plenty of competition as it is, but Proletariat Inc. have imbued their creation with their own supercharged style of spell-slinging action that will no doubt find its own coven amidst the legion of battle royale fans out there.”
