For Honor is having a free play weekend right now

This weekend everyone will get a chance to play For Honor for free on all available platforms. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions (both Uplay and Epic Games Store) of the For Honor Standard Edition can be downloaded and played for free right now until July 27th.

The edition of the Ubisoft fighting game unlocks the core For Honor roster, as well as the singleplayer campaign, and all multiplayer modes. See below for the exact details of this free weekend period.

In other For Honor news, the game has recently shifted into Year 4 Season 2. This new season, dubbed “Tyranny” continues the Year of Reckoning with new content, although there is no new hero entering the battlefield. New additions are mainly cosmetic in the form of emotes, weapons, and armour sets, with a new battle pass loaded with unlockable rewards.

Hardcore fans will also welcome the redesign of For Honor’s Centurion. This fighter – based on the gladius-wielding Roman warriors – has been a source of contention within the game’s community. In Year 4 Season 2 his moveset has been broadened to make him more viable in numerous combat scenarios. Other core design changes are coming too and are said to encourage a more aggressive style of play.

  1. That’s a nice ambiguous headline. Could be it’s going free to play for just this weekend, or it’s going free to play starting this weekend.

The first paragraph and the URL clarify it’s just for this weekend, but still…

    • Yeah, not the best headline from that perspective, so I’ve changed it.
