The official Twitter account for Konami recently posted a short video taken from Silent Hill 2 and the internet went mad because that obviously means a new Silent Hill game.

Konami clarified that was not the case, they were simply watching streams of Dead By Daylight which includes Silent Hill content, but also directed readers to @SilentHill, a new Twitter account that was created on the same day.
We are sorry we got people fired up. Anything official would come from first from @SilentHill or an event or something, not from us. We were just being fans and enjoyed the noise/memories. Sorry everyone, did mean to kill your Friday mood.

The Twitter account has tweeted some fan art, some links to Dead by Daylight, and also links to a bunch of Silent Hill comics from IDW.
The writer and director of the 2006 Silent Hill film, Christophe Gans, has said that he is working on a new film based on the Konami franchise. Both projects will be produced by Victor Hadida who’s credits include the previous Silent Hill films and the Resident Evil series of movies.
They are also working on a movie version of the PlayStation 2 game Fatal Frame, aka Project Zero, published by Koei Tecmo.
I have two horror film projects with Victor Hadida. I am working on the adaptation of the video game Project Zero [Fatal Frame]. The film will take place in Japan. I especially don’t want to uproot the game from its Japanese haunted house setting. And we’re also working on a new Silent Hill. The project will always be anchored in this atmosphere of a small American town, ravaged by Puritanism. I think it’s time to make a new one
As for a new Silent Hill game, former Silent Hill artist Masahiro Ito has confirmed that he was working on a new game and numerous references to Silent Hill. Unconfirmed leaks back in January suggested that Konami were working on two Silent Hill games, one of which may be a reboot of the series. According to tweet, Konami were reaching out to developers rather than doing the project in house.
franchise, the other an episodic TellTale/Until Dawn-style game to go alongside the reboot. I don't know anything more than that though, but I sure do hope Konami's given it the appropriate budget and found the right developer to make those games succeed.

We also know Hideo Kojima is working on a horror game for his next title and as he is now on good terms with Konami there have been suggestions he may be involved. There are also rumours that Sony are taking the license and making it PlayStation exclusive, but those have been denied by Konami.
