Sony’s State of Play stream gave us another look at Solar Ash, one of the games revealed during the original PlayStaiton 5 game reveal last June. Solar Ash will be coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 later in 2021.
Solar Ash is a slick looking 3D action platforming adventure from developer Heart Machine (the team behind Hyper Light Drifter). Taking place by a black hole, it’s all about speed and fluidity as you explore the large environments that are slowly being consumed. You play as Ray, a Void Runner, who’s venturing into the anomaly to try and save her home planet.
It all looks incredibly fast paced, with bounding leaps, skating across the environment, and the ability to zip to highlighted points. Combat is equally slick, designed to be fast and fit the flow of your journey.
Some enemies will be huge, requiring timing to defeat, with the ultimate foes being the Sentinels, the one shown in the trailer a large snake-like being.
It looks fantastic and will be coming to PS5 and PS4 later this year.
