Lionsgate Games and nWay have announced some brand new DLC for the fighting game Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid, and it is DLC Street Fighter fans may want to take note of. On May 25th, Ryu and Chun Li will be playable characters as their Power Rangers alter egos Crimson Hawk Ranger and Blue Phoenix Ranger. You can see Ryu, aka Crimson Hawk Ranger, in action below.
This is not the first time Ryu and Chun Li have appeared in Power Rangers, and could actually be considered as part of the series’ canon. Both characters appeared in the mobile game Power Rangers: Legacy Wars which itself was based on a short film set in the Power Rangers universe. In that crossover, both characters travelled to this alternate dimension to stop M.Bison from obtaining a Power Coin.
Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid was released in 2019 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Since then it has steadily been going along and gaining a following. The game made its way to Xbox Game Pass in March 2020. The game itself features Power Rangers from different series with the Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers being the most prominent. In the game, players choose a team of three characters to face off against other teams, a similar style to the Marvel vs Capcom franchise.
