Stuffed, a FPS with cuddly teddy bears, coming to early access this summer

Waving Bear Studio, a four person indie team from Cornwall, England, have revealed that their debut title Stuffed will be heading to early access later this year and it’s going to make the first person shooter genre just a little bit more cuddly.

The game is set in the dreams of a little girl called Ellie and you play as a squad of teddy bears protecting her from nightmares. These manifest as evil toys who are trying to break in to Ellie’s bedroom. Players will have to fight off evil gnomes, rampant robots, and rather terrifying rubber duckies who have far too many teeth than a rubber duckie should ever have. Check out the announcement trailer below.

“Stuffed was originally conceived as an 18+ horror shooter but when we took early prototypes to conventions we had queues of younger gamers wanting to play,” say Waving Bear Studio. “We realised how few FPS games are accessible to a younger audience, so we redesigned the title from the ground up: taking the mechanics and experiences enjoyed in mature shooters whilst ensuring the content appeals to a wide range of players.”

“We love how, as the title’s grown throughout development, its reach and appeal has crossed so many barriers, whether that’s age, gender, nationality, and many other demographics.”

Stuffed will include solo, four player online co-op, and two-player split-screen co-op modes, with procedural maps so no two games will ever be the same. As it’s a family friendly game you won’t be firing conventional weapons, your arsenal is made up of weapons constructed from household items including a popcorn grenade and a cola cannon. You will also be able to customise your bear with costumes and skins so they look super cute / deadly.

You can wishlist it on Steam right now.
