An enhanced version of Death Stranding has been announced for PlayStation 5, as Hideo Kojima popped by the opening of the Summer Game Fest and E3 2021. Death Stranding Director’s Cut is coming soon.
In a quirky trailer that nodded toward the Metal Gear Solid franchise, right down to some shenanigans with a cardboard box, Kojima teased the Director’s Cut, but more details will be coming sometime soon – this is not the full reveal.
There’s been plenty of speculation about a new game in a Death Stranding franchise, or at least an enhanced version of the game, and this confirms the latter. Hideo Kojima also discussed his upcoming game project, stating that he expected game development to change, and that his own process would be shifting.

Death Stranding is like nothing I have ever played; beautiful, heart racing, heart breaking, frustrating, epic, stunning, and utterly nuts. I laughed, I cried, I cursed, and I went to the toilet an awful lot. Death Stranding isn’t just my Game of the Year, it’s a contender for Game of the Generation too.
