Shin Megami Tensei V November release date and story details confirmed

Update 15/06: Nintendo has confirmed the release date for Shin Megami Tensei V. The game will release for Nintendo Switch on 12th November 2021.

Shin Megami Tensei V will release on 11th November 2021 for Nintendo Switch, according to a leak from the game’s Japanese website that was picked up by Persona Central. It wouldn’t be much surprise to have these details officially confirmed in the E3 Nintendo Direct this month.

Persona Central were able to spot the release date alongside a number of story details.

The story follows a high school student who wanders into the world of “Da’ath”, where they are fused with a mysterious man to become a “Naobino”, a forbidden being, and gets to battling in a war between gods and demons. The game ending can diverge in many ways, depending on choices you make in the pursuit of the truth of the world.

The world of Da’ath is a completely desert landscape, with over 200 demons to battle. Some of the demons are familiar and others are newly drawn by Masayuki Doi, including beasts that are the size of mountains or giant birds flying overhead.

Shin Megami Tensei V has been in development for a heckin’ long time, first announced as a Switch exclusive back in 2017. Last summer, Nintendo and Atlus confirmed that the game will be receiving a simultaneous worldwide release in 2021.
