Death Stranding: Director’s Cut new features revealed – Coming out in September

Having been announced in a fleeding moment back at E3 2021, more details of Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and everything it will add to the game have been revealed. Death Stranding: Director’s cut will be out for PlayStation 5 on 24th September 2021.

An enhanced version of the PlayStation 4 and PC release from 2019, the game has been remastered for PlayStation 5. However, this is more than just making the game loop a bit prettier.

The core gameplay has been expanded with advanced combat mechanics that include upgraded melee, the taser-like Maser Gun, mounted machine guns and a firing range to test them all out. Handy when there’s new battles for you to face and new story missions to grow the narrative that bit further.

Getting around the world will be enhanced with new delivery support options. These include a Cargo Catapult, Support Skeleton to let you carry more, a Buddy Bot to carry you, and jump Ramps to let you zip across big gaps on your bike. There’s also new Fragile Circuit Racing that I’m sure will be popular.

Death Stranding is like nothing I have ever played; beautiful, heart racing, heart breaking, frustrating, epic, stunning, and utterly nuts. I laughed, I cried, I cursed, and I went to the toilet an awful lot. Death Stranding isn’t just my Game of the Year, it’s a contender for Game of the Generation too.

I'm probably wearing toe shoes, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!

  1. As much as I loved the bonkers plot the highlight of Death Stranding was, for me, crossing snowy mountains and setting up zipline towers in exactly the right spots. I think future updates need chairlifts, skidoo’s and snowboarding. Just saying.

  2. Somehow there’s already less complaining about the fact that it costs $10 (or whatever that works out as here) for the upgrade than there was about the Ghost of Tsushima upgrade.

    That cost exactly the same.

i might just have to upgrade it and actually get around to finishing it.
