A new trailer for The Gunk has been released at Gamescom 2021, giving us another glimpse of the curious 3D action game from the makers of SteamWorld. The Gunk is expected to release in December 2021, coming to Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC as a timed console exclusive. Oh, and it’ll be on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
The Gunk was first announced at the Xbox Series S showcase in July 2020, with the makers of SteamWorld embarking on an ambitious new IP. However, since then we’ve heard precious little about the game.
Set on an alien planet, you adventure to uncover the mystery behind the titular gunk. The game has an intriguing and chunky art style to the technology you carry, letting you peel back the gunk and reveal the beauty of the natural world below. We can’t wait to see more as we get closer to release in December.
