Rumours of a Bloodborne remaster for PS5 have been floating around for quite a while and if the latest gossip is to be believed Bloodborne 2 is also in development. Colin Moriarty was speaking on the  Sacred Symbols podcast and had this to say about Bluepoint.

They’re re-releasing Bloodborne on PS5, as I understand it, but we’re going to get a sequel to Bloodborne, as I have heard, out of them after that.

Previous rumours of a PS5 remaster came from tweets from Sloth Mom/Casey Explosion who stated she had information that Bloodborne Remastered was scheduled to be announced at a PS5 reveal event. This was followed up by industry insider Wario64 who said people could play Bloodborne via PS Now on PC or could hold out for a little while longer. Then Kinda Funny’s Imran Khan stated that FromSoftware fans would be very happy over the next two years.

Last month Sony announced that Bluepoint Games were the latest studio to join the PlayStation family. The news was announced on the PlayStation Blog by Head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst:

Today I’m very excited to announce that PlayStation Studios has grown again with the addition of long-time partner Bluepoint Games! From the exceptional PS5 remake of Demon’s Souls to the critically acclaimed PS4 remake of Shadow of the Colossus and remasters of fan favorites like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Bluepoint has built a name for itself by creating some of the highest-quality remasters and remakes in the industry.

With each of its projects, Bluepoint has raised the bar on console-defining visuals and gameplay, and the studio’s vast expertise in world building and character creation will be a huge plus for future PlayStation Studios properties.

Welcome to the PlayStation Studios family, Bluepoint!

In our review for Bloodborne, Aran wrote:

Overall Bloodborne is a fantastic game and could be considered one of the best exclusives available on the PS4 so far. The gameplay will not be for everyone, with the difficulty and repetition a potential turn off, but if you are looking for a new challenge, Bloodborne is a fantastic choice. The twisted atmosphere of Yharnam, the great design of the monsters, and the fear it can instil within you is something that won’t be forgotten in a hurry. There’s a time when you realise a game will be revered and spoken of fondly years from now, and Bloodborne will be one of them.

  1. I’m 45 years old….I prefer RTS and ARPG games like Command and Conquer and Diablo 3 but Bloodborne is the best game I’ve ever played….wonderfully balanced with unique replayability and such big difference in builds it deserves a remaster and a successor.

I spent 4 hours on the first bonfire and cursed the game….100 hours later it is the greatest game ever.
