A new Sifu update has been confirmed for PS4, PS5, and PC versions of the game. This latest patch makes a number of improvements, including the addition of a Mandarin Chinese voiceover option.

The new patch should also help remedy camera collision issues players have been reporting since launch. Sifu has now sold over 1 million copies – despite being labelled as a brutal melee action game, 150,000 fighters have now beaten Sifu’s main antagonist.

Jason wasn’t as keen as other reviewers – in our Sifu review, he scored the game a 4 out of 10:
“Sifu is a game that I wanted to love. I had high hopes for it being one of my game of the year contenders, but it left me feeling intensely deflated instead. It’s a game that confuses the precise mechanical difficulty of Sekiro with a forced difficulty brought on by simply giving bosses armour. I find myself irrationally angry with Sifu. Sifu is a game that had exceptional potential, but squandered it on the wrong lessons.”
Sifu is the second title from French game developer, Sloclap. Their debut game, Absolver, was similarly ambitious in its attempts to create a stylish hit with martial arts combat at its core.
A physical release is due later this year. Launching on May 3, 2022, Sifu Vengeance Edition will bundle a copy of the game with a steelbook, 3 exclusive lithographs, a 48-page artbook, and a digital soundtrack.
