Forever Entertainment have released a trailer for their remake of Sega’s arcade shooter The House of the Dead. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch on April 7th and pre-order starts on March 31st.

“The House of the Dead: Remake is a remade version of the game introduced in 1997 on the arcade platform,” say Forever Entertainment. “A classic arcade rail-shooter receives a whole new entourage and gameplay changes to suit modern gaming standards.”

Here are those ever so important features:

  • Well known arcade classic with modern graphics and controls
  • True to the original gameplay
  • Local 2-player multiplayer
  • Multiple endings
  • Photomode
  • Achievements
  • Armory with unlockable weapons
  • Hordes of the undead monstrosities in a new game mode
  • Gallery with encountered enemies and bosses

Forever Entertainment are also handling to remakes of Panzer Dragoon 1 & 2, and a new version of The House of the Dead 2, all for Nintendo Switch.

The last time we saw the franchise was back in 2011 when House of The Dead Overkill launched on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. “It’s still one of the better Move-enabled games on the market, and hopefully SEGA will consider transferring some of its other under-appreciated titles from the Wii but we won’t hold our breath,” we said in our 7/10 review.
