Developer Fatshark has announced a Warhammer 40,000 Darktide release date, with the game still on track to launch this year.
The upcoming sci-fi co-op shooter will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S from September 13, 2022. The news was accompanied by a short cinematic trailer, giving us a glimpse at some key characters. This could also be our first look at Darktide’s lobby/pre-match hub area.
Towards the end of the video we get to see Warhammer 40,000 Darktide in action as players lay waste to the dark forces of chaos using both ranged and melee attacks. According to Fatshark, its upcoming game has been a “permanent fixture” within Steam’s most wanted wishlisted games.
Oh, you may be thinking, another Warhammer game? While it’s true that there are no shortage of titles based on the popular Games Workshop license, Darktide had our immediate attention. This is thanks to Fatshark’s work on Vermintide and Vermintide 2 which stand next to the Total War: Warhammer series as the best Warhammer games available.
