EA Sports has just released a new FIFA 22 update, laying the groundwork for its upcoming cross-play feature.
TU10 makes a number of changes to football sim, including gameplay tweaks and visual improvements. However, the highlight of this FIFA 22 update is the addition of online cross-play.
It’s worth noting that this feature will only be available to those playing on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Google Stadia. It will also be limited to two online game modes including Online Seasons and Online Friendlies.
FIFA 22 cross-play isn’t live just yet. This new patch lays the groundwork, though EA has yet to flip the switch. EA says this staggered approach will help avoid the onset of new issues being introduced to the game. With a FIFA 23 reveal likely due in the next few months, cross-play comes a bit late into the sequel’s lifespan. This is likely EA testing the feature for future instalments with a plan to roll it out across all multiplayer modes, including FUT.
