The Furon Empire will return in Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed on 30th August, THQ Nordic and developer Black Forest Games have announced. The remake is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC. Not only that, but multiplayer the spin-off Destroy All Humans! Clone Carnage is available today!

Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed follows in the footsteps of the remake of the first game’s own remake, rebuilding the cult classic open world alien invader in a modern game engine, and then unleashing it upon the world.

Once again you’ll play as Crypto – actually Cryptosporidium 138 this time, and they’re the first Furon to have genitalia, for some reason… – as they’re dropped into the middle of a daft Cold War thriller. The sequel, set 10 years on from the first game in 1969, expands the game world and plot to UFO-set around the world, taking in open world areas that include Bay City (San Francisco), Albion (London), Takoshima (Tokyo), Tunguska (in Russia), and the Moon.

You’ll be battling Hippies, the KGB and more, using Crypto’s jetpack, hoverboard and flying saucer, as well as a wild variety of new weapons. The saucer has had an update so that, if you abduct certain numbers of humans, you’ll unlock a new skill. This can also be played in 2-player split-screen co-op.

Destroy All Humans! 2’s various editions include the $ 39.99 / € 39.99 / £ 34.99 Standard Edition and Dressed to Skill edition for $ 54.99 / € 54.99 / £ 44.99, which adds the Challenge Accepted DLC and a skin pack. Being bundled in as a pre-order bonus is the stand-alone spin-off Destroy All Humans! Clone Carnage, which features online multiplayer for four people, or two people locally. This is also being sold separately for $ 12.99 / € 12.99 / £ 9.99… and it’s out today!

In our review for Destroy All Humans, I wrote:

“Destroy All Humans is a faithful remake that retains the charm of the 2005 original, while dramatically overhauling the visuals and making some improvements to the gameplay. Perhaps a bit too faithful, with missions that now feel too simple and limited to the point of just being a bit boring.”
