Summer Game Fest looks all set to make you forget that E3 isn’t happening this year, as next week will kick off a mini-bonanza of game streams, announcements and preview opportunities for eager gamers and the press. It’s now been confirmed exactly who is taking part in the Summer Game Fest livestream on 10th June.
The Geoff Keighley vehicle promises a 2 hour world premiere showcase that features game premieres, gameplay demos and news from more than 30 developers and publishers. This will all kick off at 7PM BST (UK time), 2PM EDT and 11AM PDT on Thursday 10th June.
Those more than 30 developers and publishers? Well, they would be:
2K, Activision, Atlus, Bandai Namco, Bloober Team, Capcom, Coffee Stain, Deep Silver, Devolver Digital, Digital Extremes, DotEmu, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, Focus Entertainment, Frost Giant Studios, Humble Games, Level Infinite, Mediatonic, MiHoYo, Netflix, PlayStation, Raw Fury, Samsung Gaming Hub, Sega, Skybound Games, Square Enix, Steam, Studio MDHR, Tribeca Festival, Warner Bros. Games, and Xbox.
That’s 31, so just sneaking over that 30 mark.
Immediately following Summer Game Fest will be the Day of the Devs stream, returning once again to showcase all manner of things smaller and indie-er. This has been confirmed to include a new IP from ustwo games (Monument Valley), the next game from Michael Frei (Plug & Play, KIDS) & Raphaël Munoz, a new trailer and some exciting news about Gummy Cat’s Bear and Breakfast and more announcements from developers including: Coin Crew Games, Ewoud van der Werf, Florian Veltman & Baptiste Portefaix, HiWarp, Madison Karrh, Max Inferno, Shared Memory, Soda Den, Two Star Games and Wishfully.
They’ve also now publicly announced the real E3 replacement part of the show, as Geoff Keighley and iam8bit are collaborating to host a small in-person media even in LA called Summer Game Fest: Play Days. Expect to see plenty of previews and other content coming out of that – we’re sending Miguel to investigate!
In and around the Summer Game Fest, we also have other streams being hosted by other companies. Sony has decided that tomorrow night’s State of Play stream is a part of Summer Game Fest, and there’s the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase that will take place on 12th June.
