Madden 23 gameplay trailer goes into FieldSENSE details

Madden 23 Reveal Header

Madden 23 was announced last week with a very quick look at the new FieldSENSE feature. This new feature will apparently give better detail and more control to players in Madden 23, but the feature will only be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Features such as pass placement, the way tackles hit, and running down the field will all be impacted by FieldSense. Today, a new deep dive has been released by EA to give more details about Madden 23 and the new feature.

The main points of FieldSENSE can be read below.

  • Hit Everything – Redefining defensive pursuit, new mechanics let you be more disruptive on defense. New animation branching technology in Madden NFL 23 enables next-gen Hit-Stick physics so you can perform mid-air knockouts, hit the pile to assist in tackles already in progress, blow up blocks, and force turnovers with stand up tackles.
  • Skill Based Passing – Lead your receivers open, drop back-shoulder throws into tight windows, and place every pass where only your receiver can catch it with surgical accuracy thanks to this all-new way to pass. Skill-Based Passing introduces a new accuracy reticule and passing meter.
  • 360 Cuts – Whether you’re a running back, wide receiver after the catch, or returning a kick, new 360° Cuts give you the freedom and fluidity as the ball-carrier to hit the gaps as you see them, plant-and-go, and elude defenders to break more big plays.
  • WR vs DB Battles – A suite of new wide receiver release moves and defensive back counter press mechanics make for some fancy footwork and crucial 1-v-1 battles off the line.

Madden 23 will be available on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One with a release date set as August 19th, 2022. However, those who pre-order the All Madden Edition will get three days early access so can play from August 16th. In addition, only those who order the Madden 23 All Madden Edition on PS4 and Xbox One will get an upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game at no additional cost. Those who pre-order the standard edition will not get a free next gen upgrade.
