LEGO Brawls release date is set for this September on consoles

lego brawls game

LEGO Brawls release date has been confirmed as September 2nd, Bandai Namco has announced. The confirmed platforms are PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch, so the game will no longer be an Apple Arcade exclusive. If you are wondering whether LEGO Brawls has anything in common with Super Smash Bros Brawl you would be right, as the new game is similar to Nintendo’s own character brawler.

LEGO Brawls will offer much more customisation than Nintendo’s offering, with players able to unlock different minifigures along with powerups and LEGO parts to create unique fighters. The arenas themselves are based upon iconic LEGO sets such as Ninjago Seabound, Barracuda Bay, a Wild West Saloon, and Monkie Kid Jungle.

LEGO Brawls will support crossplay across platforms with players able to compete with each other to climb the global leaderboards. Of course, there is also offline multiplayer. On Switch and Xbox consoles up to eight players will be able to fight against each other locally, while on PS4 and PS5 that is limited to four players facing off against each other. To keep things fresh, Bandai Namco will also be releasing seasonal and limited time events to give players more content to unlock and use in their builds and brawls.

LEGO Bricktales is a beautiful and puzzling builder

LEGO has been making some big strides this year with its videogame announcements and collaborations. LEGO Bricktales was announced earlier this year and was well received in our own preview. On top of that, LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga scored an 8/10 in our review. It was announced over the weekend that the game had recently passed five million players since it was released as well. As for the actual brick-building sets themselves, we’ve seen a recent crossover with Horizon Forbidden West – cop a look at this magnificent LEGO Tallneck!
