Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope October release confirmed in new gameplay trailer

Mario Rabbids Sparks of Hope

Any second now a third party Nintendo Direct mini show will start and it was expected that a Mario + Rabbids game would be revealed. It turns out we don’t have to wait as Ubisoft themselves leaked the game on their Milan store, setting the Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope release date for 20th October 2022.

Update: This has now all been confirmed via the Nintendo Direct Mini with Ubisoft also hosting a special gameplay showcase tomorrow, 29th June, at 5PM UK time.

Mario, Luigi, Peach and all his Mushroom Kingdom chums will be returning, and so will their Rabbids counterparts with a new adventure to save Sparks and the energy that an alien force is trying to steal from them.

The game’s rapid turn-based battles will return, with the newly enhanced ability to move around freely within a character’s movement range lending itself to speedy action. The new trailer showed off how this can allow you to dash through enemies with different characters and then use a combo strike to take out multiple enemies together.

Rabbid Luigi has a multi-hit boomerang, Mario now has twin pistols, while Rabbid Rosalina can jump off allies to helicopter around the map and then take out enemies with the “Kaboomer”. You can also bop Bob-ombs, grab and then throw them at enemies. Also, Bowser’s now on the same side as you (as he often is when there’s a greater rival).

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope will be available in standard and Gold editions with the Gold edition including a season pass and the he “Galactic Prestige Pack”. The title will launch on Switch on October 20th.

Here’s more harvested from Ubisoft’s website, we will throw up the trailer as soon as it is available.
