Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness releases September

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will be released on September 2nd, Spike Chunsoft has revealed. The game will be available on Switch, PC via Steam, and PS4. Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will feature two game modes. The first is called Hello Abyss in which players can play through the story of the anime, and the second is called Deep in Abyss. This second mode introduces a new story where players take on the role of a new Cave Raider to explore the Abyss.

Made In Abyss started as a manga in 2012 followed by an anime in 2017. Then in 2019 a compilation movie was made, with a brand new movie releasing in 2020. In 2020, a sequel to the anime was announced as well. The main story follows the character Riko, an orphan, who lives in an orphanage close the Abyss. The Abyss is a giant hole in the Earth where artefacts from past civilisations can be found, but explorers can become infected by a curse the further they go in. Riko goes to explore the Abyss to find out what happened to her mother.

A Collector’s Edition for Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness has also been revealed by Spike Chunsoft. Priced at $89.99/€83.32 this includes, “a 24″ x 36″ commemorative movie-sized cloth poster featuring new exclusive art by Kinema Citrus, the team behind the Made in Abyss anime, and your very own Cave-Raiding Notebook, containing pictures and information about primeval creatures, Relics, and Whistles,as well as space to take your own notes while diving into the netherworld.”
