A new trailer for the turn-based tactical sequel Jagged Alliance 3 has been released, showcasing the fight to rescue the president of Grand Chien by paramilitary group The Legion.
Jagged Alliance 3 sees you lead a counter-insurgency with a group of hired mercenaries that you lead into battle. It’s a revival of the turn-based tactical series that originated in the mid-90s, and will see you engage in modernised takes on the franchise’s core combat, RPG mechanics and 4X elements.
There will be a wide cast of mercs to hire, with the return of some fan favourites, and you can then improve them with perks as they level up, giving them new gear from looted, salvaged and customised weaponry and equipment. They’ll be a spearhead for the militia that you build up to push the enemy back and recapture different regions and sectors of Grand Chien.

Jagged Alliance 3 was announced last year is in development for PC by Haemimont Games, with THQ Nordic having acquired the license through the purchase of HandyGames in 2018. As with many of THQ’s franchises, Jagged Alliance is a storied game series that dates back to the 90s. The 1995 original was followed by a named sequel a year later, before Jagged Alliance 2 came out in 1999 and provided the foundations for a convoluted set of standalone expansions, enhanced re-releases and full remakes. A full Jagged Alliance 3 sequel was mooted in the mid-2000s with development starting, being outsourced and cancelled a few times, and eventually coming to nothing. THQ Nordic has steadied the ship and handed control over to Haemimont Games.
