Twisted Metal season one has finished filming

Twisted Metal season one has finished filming, showrunner Michael Jonathan has confirmed. The show, which was first confirmed in 2019, will consist of 10 episodes. In the main role is Anthony Mackie as a character simply known as John Doe, who is tasked with delivering a package to have a better life. The catch is that he has to drive across a post apocalyptic wasteland. Joining him on the show are Tahj Vaughans as Mike, and Brooklyn 99 star Stephanie Beatriz. Will Arnett is playing the role of series icon Sweet Tooth.

Michael Jonathan went on to say, “The cast and crew of Twisted Metal was something special. Even with lightning delays, extreme heat, and cars that wouldn’t do as they’re told, everyone worked as hard as they could to make sure Twisted Metal kicked as much as possible. The last day of shooting felt like the last day of camp, with lots of laughs, a few tears, and ice cream being handed out the back of Sweet Tooth’s truck. We all cannot wait for you to see this insane thing we spent our summer shooting. Now, to post!”

A release date for Twisted Metal is yet to be confirmed, but we do know that the streaming service Peacock has picked it up in the US, and it will likely be the same here as the app is available via Sky. Twisted Metal will be a mixture of action and comedy, leaning into the outlandishness of the concept. The first Twisted Metal was released in 1995 followed by Twisted Metal 2 in 1996. Twisted Metal 3 and 4 followed in 1998 and 1999 respectively, with Twisted Metal: Black releasing in 2001. There was then a release on PSP with the final game, Twisted Metal, releasing in 2012 on PS3.
