Colossal Order has revealed a series of mini updates and DLC for Cities: Skylines that will be released over the next two months. The World Tour collection will include two new regional theme, a mini-expansion for Financial Districts, more skyscraper designs and new radio stations.
On 15th November the Heart of Korea pack will launch, made by content creator Elvis and including 60 new service buildings, growables, and unique buildings inspired by South Korean cities. Alongside this will be the Skyscrapers back with 15 towering buildings taking inspiration from around the world. Both will sell for $5.99 / £4.79 / €5.99 each, while the accompanying ‘K-Pop’ and ’80’s Downtown Beat’ Radio Station will also be available for $3.99 / £2.89 / €3.99 each.
Rounding out 2022, the Financial Districts mini-expansion will be released from Colossal Order. This will add an ‘investment’ feature and over 100 assets to the game. That will arrive on 13th December alongside the Map Pack 2 from content creators.
There’s also an ‘African Vibes’ station coming out on the same day, which will lead into the Africa in Miniature themed pack that will arrive in 2023, inspired by Cameroon’s geography and coming from Nigerian content creators Emmanuel Bassey and Setonji “Prince Set” Hotonu.
Cities: Skylines has been the preeminent city builder for most of the last decade, and while there are still new features and expansions from Colossal Order themselves – Airports were enhanced earlier this year, the fishing industry in 2020, and so on – they’ve also had a collaborative programme with community creators since 2017, working with creators to make and sell their work to the game’s players. It’s an interesting approach.
