Paradox Interactive has announced LEGO Skylines, an exciting new entry in the Cities Skylines series, coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC.

Being developed by new series custodians Iceflake Studios, LEGO Skylines puts a plastic brick twist on the city building genre. You’ll start with a single plot, build a first house and then grow from there to create a neighbourhood and eventually a bustling metropolis.

You’ll have to cover the same fundamentals, with roads, electricity and water, but also ensure that there’s food for your growing city. You’ll also be trying to ensure that citizens have good lives, featuring parks to unwind, stores for them to visit, cosy homes, and all the city services you would expect.

Lasse Liljedahl, Co-Founder and Game Director at Iceflake Studios said, “Most of us at Iceflake grew up building LEGO sets, and we’ve carried that passion with us to this day. As huge fans, we were incredibly excited to get the opportunity to combine our creative drive with everything we’ve learned over the years building deep management and simulation games. With LEGO Skylines, we want to turn city building into a more personal experience, where only your imagination limits what kind of cities you can build. We can’t wait to see how players bring their dreams to life in it.”

Iceflake took over the Skylines series at Paradox last year, as original studio Colossal Order went their separate way. This new team has worked to improve Cities: Skylines 2, but is now juggling a brand new game as well.
