With Diablo IV’s release on the horizon, Blizzard has announced a pair of open beta weekends for the hotly anticipated action RPG in March. Diablo IV will get its full launch on 6th June 2023 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One and PC, with the beta available across all these platforms.

Access to the Diablo 4‘s two beta weekends will depend on if you’ve pre-ordered the full game or not, with those who have getting to play a week before Blizzard opens the gates to all and sundry.

  • Diablo 4 early access beta – 17th to 19th March
  • Diablo 4 open beta – 24th to 26th March

Players will need to have a Battle.net account in order to participate.

During these weekends, Blizzard will let played dive into a healthy chunk of the game’s opening, including the Prologue and the entirety of Act 1. This will allow you to sample the first zone, Fractured Peaks, with a rugged landscape filled with demons to batter as you gather experience and level up, the gear you’re able to find topping out at Level 25.

Diablo 4 looks to continue the legacy of this action RPG series over a decade after the original launch of Diablo 3. In that time there have been a number of dungeon crawling contenders from fan favourite, Path of Exile, to recent games like Undecember and Torchlight: Infinite. In 2021, we even got a full-on Diablo 2 remake while patiently waiting for Blizzard’s sequel.

For Diablo 4, Blizzard are adopting a seasonal approach to updating the game and keeping things fresh. Each season will come with new gameplay features, a new questline and mysteries, and more of the world of Sanctuary. There will also be live events that crop up, and a Season Journey that is free for all players. This, however, feeds into a battle pass system that has both free rewards and a paid track of rewards to complete.

This will also feed into the end-game of Diablo IV. There will be a variety of different activities to take on including region-wide Helltides that can impact your general exploring of Sanctuary, Nightmare Dungeons, Whispers of the Dead that can reward you with loot when traded in, and PvP areas known as Fields of Hatred. I’m sure fans will love them.
