TeamKill Media have revealed that third/first person shooter Quantum Error will be released on 3rd November 2023 on PS5. The PS4 version was cancelled but there is an Xbox Series X|S version of the way, but that does not have a release date.

Originally revealed in March 2020 as a PlayStation exclusive, Quantum Error was confirmed a multiplatform title in September 2020. The decision to go multiplatform came after a lot of interest following showcases for Quantum Error at industry events such as the Future Games Show and Gamescom.

The story description is as follows:

When the Monad Quantum Research Facility – 30 miles off the shore of CA – is attacked by an unknown entity, engulfing the complex in flames and putting it into a full containment lock-down, a distress call is sent for mutual aid to the Garboa Fire Dept in San Francisco, CA.

Fire Chief Sturgis answers the call and sends you – Capt. Jacob Thomas – your partner Shane Costa and a crew by helicopter to the Monad Facility.

Your mission is simple: save as many lives from the burning complex as possible and get out.  However, what starts as a rescue mission quickly plummets into darkness, when you arrive and find that things are not as they appear.

The game is using Unreal Engine 5 and promises the following:

  • -Global Illumination provides a striking visual experience of lifelike shadows, reflections, and impressive lighting in an extremely dark environment.
  • Nanite utilized to increase geometric detail where applicable.
  • Soundscape used to create more immersive and realistic sounding environments.
