Fallout London mod release date confirmed for April 2024

Fallout London Column

One of the biggest mods for Fallout 4, Fallout: London, is near completion with the team behind the mod confirming that this add on will be available 23rd April 2024. As you can guess by the name, the Fallout: London mod is set in the English capital, moving the franchise away from the USA. There are no vaults as Vault Tec did not exist in the UK. Instead, there are Pindar stations where people could take shelter.

Fallout: London features 15 boroughs of the city including Bromley, Camden, City of London, Croydon, Eastminster, Greenwich, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Wandsworth, and Westminster. There are iconic places like the Houses of Parliament, and the Underground.

The Attaboy replaces the Pipboy in Fallout: London, with Vault Boy being replaced by the Protect and Survive Family that feature instead as animations. There are three new radio stations added to the game, and more tracks added to the soundtrack too. The gameplay has seen overhauls too. The crafting system has been upgraded for things like ammo, there are perk checks throughout the dialogue, fast travel options include trains, taxis, and boats, playable instruments, dynamic weather, animations for ladder climbing, and swimming.

Quests are a huge part of the Fallout: London mod, with 53 main quests and 35 side quests in total that can be experienced. Just like in Fallout 4, some of these quests are self contained side quests while others will feed into overall story that shapes the future of London and the rest of the nation. On top of these quests, there are various factions that add an additional 25 quests. There are also 64 smaller miscellaneous quests too. Gangs roam the streets of London, and here too are quests. 16 gang quests in total. You will not have to do these alone with seven companions to choose from, including a British Bulldog called Churchill. Companions also have quests, with five in total there. There is full voicing across most of the mod, with over 90,000 recorded lines found in Fallout: London, almost the same amount in Fallout 4. The protagonist is silent.

While this is a mod for Fallout 4, Fallout London does not take place at the same time as the base game. Instead, the year is 2237 and it is between the events of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. The factions are different too due to the setting. There are no Minutemen or Brotherhood of Steel here. Instead, you have factions such as the Gentry, the Tommies, 5th Column, Camelot, the Isle of Dogs Syndicate, and the mysterious Angel.  Do not expect the likes of super mutants and deathclaws wandering the streets of London due to the fallout having less of an impact on the UK compared to the impact that occurred in the USA. There are also fewer guns in London with players encouraged to create weapons from scrap, and really leaning into some melee combat. Of course, guns will still feature in Fallout London and you can always find some stashed somewhere, or pick one off someone else.

Fallout: London is a mod that will exclusive to PC, and will require Fallout 4 to be installed.
