Fallout London was revealed as a mod for Fallout 4 last year, taking the action of the original world and placing it in the capital of England. Transporting the Fallout experience from the USA to the UK has meant for some changes stylistically and setting wise. For a start there are no vaults as Vault Tec did not exist in the UK. Instead, there are Pindar stations where people could take shelter. The new gameplay footage of Fallout London shows the opening mission of the game as the player character escapes from an underground facility, and traverses to the surface to a London in ruins.
While this is a mod for Fallout 4, Fallout London does not take place at the same time as the base game. Instead, the year is 2237 and it is between the events of Fallout 1 and Fallout 2. The factions are different too due to the setting. There are no Minutemen or Brotherhood of Steel here. Instead, you have factions such as the Gentry, the Tommies, 5th Column, Camelot, the Isle of Dogs Syndicate, and the mysterious Angel.
The map size features a condensed London stretching from Westminster to the likes of Richmond and Bromley. It will be roughly the same size as the Commonwealth in Fallout 4. What is also different is the lack of mutated creatures. Do not expect the likes of super mutants and deathclaws wandering the streets of London due to the fallout having less of an impact on the UK compared to the impact that occurred in the USA. There are also fewer guns in London with players encouraged to create weapons from scrap, and really leaning into some melee combat. Of course, guns will still feature in Fallout London and you can always find some stashed somewhere, or pick one off someone else.
Fallout London is a mod that will be exclusive to the PC version of Fallout 4. Even then, PC players will need both the base Fallout 4 game as well as all of the official DLC to get Fallout London to run. There is no release date yet.
