Sony has announced that a State of Play will be taking place on January 31st at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT. It will be available to stream on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. Sony has already confirmed a couple of the games that will be part of the 15+ games line up, and those are Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin. The State of Play will be running for 40 minutes showcasing games for PS5 and PSVR 2.
While Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade have been confirmed, there have been rumours and alleged leaks of what else will be part of Sony’s showcase. Perhaps the biggest is that Death Stranding 2 will be in the stream, with some leaks suggesting that the full name of the game is Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Other rumoured games include an Until Dawn Remastered, a new look at the multiplayer shooter Concord, and a proper first look at Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 Remake. More games being bandied about in the rumour mill with slightly less substance are titles such as Sonic Generations Remastered, and the next game in the Metro series.
The last State of Play was in September and included the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth release date, the Resident Evil 4 DLC announcement, and expanded look at New York in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and Honkai: Star Rail. The January 2024 State of Play is much bigger, and one of the longer streams that Sony has done using the format. With over 15 games to cover some will no doubt be blink and you miss it announcements, while others will get a bit more time in the spotlight. Whatever gets announced you can be sure we will bring it all to you as the stream happens.
