Devolver Digital has announced that it is moving Baby Steps’ release date from September 8th to September 23rd. While an explicit reason has not been given for this delay of a couple of weeks, the new release date trailer has a very obvious reference to Hollow Knight: Silksong, which will be released on September 4th.
Baby Steps casts you as Nate, an unemployed 35-year-old basement dweller whose total inaction in life frustrates his parents no end. Then, out of nowhere, he’s teleported somewhere where his only option is to put one foot in front of the other and do this thing called walking. Baby Steps is a literal walking simulator, in the vein of QWOP, as you take this barefooted onesie wearer up and over a mountain, placing one foot at a time, and almost certainly falling flat on his face more often than not. Baby Steps will require players to help Nate get his steps going and navigate lots of obstacles while he learns to walk again, and deal with the people he comes across on his journey while climbing a mountain.
Baby Steps will be available for PC and PS5.
