Thick as Thieves is cheap as chips, and it’s coming out in May

OtherSide Entertainment has announced the launch plans for Thick as Thieves, their upcoming multiplayer stealth adventure. The game will launch on 20th May on Steam, and it comes with the barmy-feeling price of $4.99/€4.99/£4.99. There’s good reason for this.

Alongside the pricing, the team also explained the future plans for the game. This initial release will be the opening campaign for the game, exploring the setting of Kilcairn – an early 1900s alt history city – and this will mean that it features two replayable maps with 16 missions spread across them. The intent is that this campaign will last at least four hours, before factoring in replaying and embracing the multiplayer aspects. Thick as Thieves is steeped in immersive sims, but has been given a dash of multiplayer to it, racing against rival criminals who are looking to pull off the same job.

This will be just the start, though, with the team bringing more content to the game through further updates, the later content set to be informed by the preferences of the community. In some ways, it’s the Early Access model, but without the label.

Paul Neurath, CEO of OtherSide Entertainment, said, “Kilcairn is an early 1900’s alternative history city setting we’ve always wanted to explore beyond a single story. Releasing this introductory campaign gets players into the world of Thick as Thieves and gives them a meaty taste of a world worth returning to.”
